TANGAIL, Dec 9, 2025 (BSS) - A motorcyclist was killed after being hit by a truck in the Shahpur area of Ghatail Cantonment on the Tangail-Mymensingh highway here last night.
The deceased was identified as Md Rony Miah, 20, son of Zahur Ali of Jatabari area in Madhupur upazila. He used to run a shop at Taufiq Plaza in Madhupur town.
Police and locals said Rony was heading to Ghatail from Madhupur on a motorcycle when a truck hit him from behind in the Shahpur area, leaving him dead on the spot.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Md Sayem Hossain of Ghatail Police Station confirmed the matter, saying the body was recovered and taken to the police station. After completing legal procedures, the body will be handed over to his family, he added.
