KISHOREGANJ, Dec 9, 2025 (BSS) - A day-long free medical camp organized by the Bangladesh Army has provided healthcare services to around 1,500 poor and underprivileged people in the district.

The programme, held on Tuesday at the Kishoreganj Army Camp under the initiative of the 19th Infantry Division, was arranged with support from the district administration.

Lieutenant Colonel Shafat Ahmed, Commander of the 23rd Field Regiment Artillery, formally inaugurated the camp in the morning.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Aslam Mollah, Civil Surgeon Dr. Shuvo Chandra Deb, and senior officials from the army and local administration, among others, were present at the event.

A team of specialist physicians from the medicine, gynecology, and dermatology departments of Mymensingh CMH and Kishoreganj provided consultations throughout the day. In addition to medical check-ups, free essential medicines were distributed among the patients.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Aslam Mollah praised the initiative, saying, “This effort by the army to bring specialist healthcare to people’s doorsteps is truly commendable. Many people cannot afford medical expenses.”
