RANGPUR, Dec 16, 2025 (BSS) - Rangpur district and metropolitan units of Ganosamhati Andolon (GSA) observed the Victory Day - 2025 paying tribute to martyrs of the War of Liberation by laying wreaths at the Central Shaheed Minar at 12:01 am today.
 
Rangpur district GSA convener and the party-nominated MP candidate for Rangpur-3 constituency Touhidur Rahman and its Rangpur metropolitan unit convener Abdul Jabbar Sarkar led the wreath laying ceremony. 

On the occasion, Touhidur Rahman called on everyone to remain united in the spirit of the Liberation War in 1971 and national unity of the July 2024 mass uprising and all martyrs who established equality, human dignity and social justice. 
 
"We must remain united in building a new political settlement and a democratic Bangladesh to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the War of Liberation and the July 2024 mass uprising," he said.
 
Joint convener of Rangpur metropolitan GSA Shamsul Islam, Metropolitan joint member secretary Touhidul Islam Babla and general secretary of the Rangpur Tailors, Workers and Employees Union Jobaidul Islam, Sadar upazila organiser Rubel Ashraf and local GSA leaders and workers were present.
