
CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Dec 16, 2025 (BSS) - The great Victory Day was celebrated with due dignity and solemnity across the district today.
The day's programmes began at dawn with the firing of 31 gunshots. Following this, leaders and members of the Freedom Fighters' Association, district administration, police administration, political parties and various organizations laid wreaths at the memorial plaque bearing the names of the martyred freedom fighters of Chapainawabganj.
At 9:00am, the national flag was formally hoisted at the new stadium, accompanied by the release of pigeons to mark the occasion.
Deputy Commissioner Shahadat Hossain Masud and Superintendent of Police Gautam Kumar Biswas later inspected and received salutes from a parade comprising members of the police, BNCC, Scouts, students of different schools and colleges, and representatives of socio-cultural organizations.
A colourful display was presented after the parade, with active participation from students of various educational institutions.
Besides the central programme, Victory Day was observed across the district through receptions honouring brave freedom fighters, discussions on the Liberation War, cultural events, student gatherings and sports programmes at educational institutions.
The celebrations reflected the deep respect and gratitude of the people of Chapainawabganj for the sacrifices made during the Liberation War of 1971.
