KHULNA, Dec 22, 2025 (BSS) - Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami
and also a parliamentary election aspirant from Khulna-5 constituency Mia
Golam Parwar called for strict police neutrality to maintain law and order
before, during and after the national elections.

He made the call during a courtesy meeting with Khulna Superintendent of
Police Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman at the Superintendent of Police's (SP's)
Office on Monday afternoon.

The police would act impartially and conduct the election in line with the
Representation of People Order (RPO), 1972, saying no special leniency would
be shown to any party or candidate, he assured.

The Jamaat-e-Islami leader said immediate action would be taken against
anyone threatening Hindu voters upon receiving complaints.

Parwar urged enhanced intelligence surveillance while going out for campaign.
Noting that he has already been provided a gunman by the Khulna Metropolitan
Police, he sought increased police and intelligence monitoring during his
visits outside the KMP areas.

He also alleged, while talking to the police official [SP], that supporters
of some candidates were threatening Hindu voters following a Hindu gathering
held at Dumuria Upazila's Swadhinata Chattar on October 31.

Police officials assured him that they remain committed to ensuring a free,
fair and peaceful election, ignoring any intimidation.

Jamaat leaders, including Central Majlis-e-Shura member and Khulna district
secretary Munshi Mizanur Rahman, assistant secretary Munshi Moinul Islam and
executive council member Abu Yusuf Molla were present, among others, at the
meeting.
