Khaleda Zia will remain in hearts of millions: Ctg city mayor

CHATTOGRAM, Jan 04, 2026 (BSS)- Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain has said Begum Khaleda Zia will remain in the hearts of the people of Bangladesh for her contribution to the nation and courageous role during various crises and disasters. 
 
Dr. Shahadat said this while addressing a Quran Khatam programme and Doa mahfil for Khaleda Zia at Kazir Deuri VIP banquet hall in the city. On the occasion food were distributed among orphans and distressed people.
Mayor said contribution of Khaleda Zia to establishing democracy, rule of law, justice, and fundamental rights of the people will inspire the coming generation. 
 
Khaled Zia not only loved Bangladesh but also made Bangladesh a part of her life. Finally, she breathed her last in Bangladesh which is a glaring example of her deep and profound patriotism.
 
Former General Secretary of city BNP Abul Hashem Bakkar, BNP candidate for Chattogram-9 constituency Alhaj Abu Sufian, City BNP Joint Convener Yasin Chowdhury Liton, Acting Chief Executive Officer and Secretary of CCC Md. Ashraful Amin, Chief Revenue Officer Sarwar Kamal, Chief Education Officer Dr. Kissinger Chakma, Chief Engineer Anisur Rahman, City BNP Convener Anwar Hossain Lipu, among others, attended the function.
 
The doa mahfil was conducted by Md. Kamrul Islam, a member of the convening committee of Chittagong Metropolitan BNP.
