3-day agriculture technology fair begins in Jhenaidah

JHENAIDAH, Jan 12, 2026 (BSS)- A three-day long agriculture technology fair-2026 has begun today on the premises of Upazila Parishad here in Jhenaidah district.

Deputy Commissioner Md Abdullah Al Masud inaugurated the fair. 

In the beginning of the fair, a colorful rally was held.

Police Super Md Mahfuj Afzal, deputy director of the district Department of Agriculture Extension Md Kamruzzaman and Upazila Nirbahi Officer Hosne Ara, among others, addressed the inaugural function with upazila agriculture officer Nur A Nabi in the chair.
 
In his speech, the deputy commissioner said, the soil of Jhenaidah district is very fertile. All types of crops are cultivated very well here, he added. 

Due to the low incidence of natural disasters, he said, the production of agricultural products in Jhenaidah is ahead of other districts. "If modern technology is incorporated in agriculture, a new dimension will be added to the agricultural sector. Young people are becoming interested in modern agricultural technology and agricultural methods. The government is providing all kinds of support to young agricultural entrepreneurs," he added.

Meanwhile, the Sadar Upazila Agriculture Office said that this agricultural technology fair has started under the Sustainable Agriculture Extension Project in Jashore region. 

A total of 18 stalls have been set up at the fair. Young agricultural entrepreneurs of Sadar Upazila have displayed various types of modern technology-based agricultural innovations and cultivation techniques.
