Unidentified youth killed in road accident on Kuril Bishwa Road

DHAKA, Jan 12, 2026 (BSS) - An unidentified young man believed to be around 23 years old was killed today after being hit by a car on the northern side of Kuril Bishwa Road in Khilkhet in the capital.

The accident occurred at 9:15am in the morning, police and local sources said. 

The youth was critically injured and later rescued by passersby, who rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for treatment and he was declared dead around 10:00am today.

A pedestrian, Mohammad Koyes, who was present at the scene, said the victim was struck by a speeding vehicle on the northern lane of Kuril Bishwa Road and was immediately taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Confirming the incident, Khilkhet Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Farooq said the exact details of the vehicle involved are yet to be known. 

The deceased's identity has not been confirmed so far.

The body has been kept in the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy, and the matter has been reported to the concerned authorities for further investigation
