2 filling stations fined Tk 31,000 in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Jan 15, 2026 (BSS) - A mobile court conducted two separate drives and fined two fuel stations Taka 31,000 for not using stickers and measuring less in the fuel dispensing units in Rangpur city on Wednesday afternoon.

"The Rangpur divisional office of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) and district administration conducted the drives," said a BSTI press release issued here last night.

Executive Magistrate of Rangpur district administration Kazi Shahan led the mobile court.

The court fined Rangpur Filling Station at the city's Darshana area Taka 1,000 for not using stickers in the dispensing unit and Surma Filling Station at the Textile Crossing area Taka 30,000 for providing less fuel.

The BSTI prosecutors Marufa Begum, Md Nasir Uddin and Inspector Tadmira Sharmin were present at the mobile court. 

"The Rangpur divisional BSTI office will continue such drives in the public interest," the release added.
