GOPALGANJ, Jan 18, 2026 (BSS) - Three people were electrocuted at Tentulia village under Rajpat union in Kashiani upazila of the district last night.

The deceased were identified as Rahela Begum, 50, wife of Mosharef Sikder of Tentulia village; her grandson Saifan Sikder, 8, son of Sajib Sikder; and Iran Sikder, 55, son of their neighbour Hanif Sikder.

The incident occurred around 8:30 pm.

Officer-in-Charge of Kashiani Police Station Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman said an electric wire had been laid as a trap near the house of Sajib Sikder to protect Boro rice seedlings from rats.
