Marginal families receive income-generating materials in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Jan 18, 2026 (BSS) - SOS Children's Village, a non-governmental social development organization, today distributed income-generating materials among disadvantaged families and youth to enhance their livelihoods.

The event was held at the conference hall of SOS Children's Village, with Atikur Rahman, Director of SOS Children's Village Rajshahi, in the chair.

Recipients received laptops, sewing machines and auto-vans under the organization's Family Strengthening Project, while 40 youths received course completion certificates in vocational training.

The project aims to protect children from vulnerable families, ensure their education, develop skills, and strengthen family capacity.

Speaking at the event, Lutfor Rahman, Managing Director of Jamuna Industrial Agro Group, said the project not only provides assistance but also creates opportunities for families to become self-reliant. The materials will directly contribute to improving the beneficiaries' quality of life.

Among others present were Colonel (Retd.) Monirul Islam, Advocate Saifur Rahman Khan, and local dignitaries.
