TCB launches Ramadan sales in Barishal

BARISHAL, Feb 17, 2026 (BSS) - Ahead of the Holy month of Ramadan, the state-
owned Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) has begun selling essential 
food items across Barishal and the southern region. 

Every day, 40 TCB trucks will supply edible oil, sugar, lentils, chickpeas, 
and dates to around 20,000 people.

From Tuesday afternoon, under the supervision of district administrations, 15 
trucks began serving 30 wards of Barishal city while the remaining 25 trucks, 
five trucks per district, were distributed among surrounding districts. This 
initiative will continue until Eid.

In addition to truck sales, approximately 450,000 families are receiving five 
kilograms (Kg) of rice at Taka 30 per kg each month through family cards.

According to TCB officials in Barishal, truck sales will operate six days a 
week excluding Fridays at key locations in the 30 wards of the city.
