BAGERHAT, Feb 21, 2026 (BSS) - Members of the Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) arrested three persons including two siblings here in the district town today on charges of drug peddling.

The arrests were made in front of the regional Passport Office at Doshani intersection. During the drive, DNC officials recovered 10 kilograms of ganja from their possession.

The arrestees were identified as Md Asad Fakir, 39, Jahid Fakir, 44, sons of Shahid Fakir and Jubayer Hossain, 18, son of Mafiz Sheikh. All are residents of Mirzapur village in Sadar upazila of the district.

Acting on a tip-off, a DNC team conducted a raid in the area and arrested the trio from a passenger bus along with the contraband.

A case has been filed against them with Bagerhat Sadar Model Police Station.
