Two held with 6,800 Tapentadol tablets in Rangpur

RANGPUR, April 17, 2026 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) seized 6,800 
pieces of Tapentadol tablets and arrested two alleged drug dealers from 
Lahirirhat Bazar under Kotwali Sadar Police Station of Rangpur on Thursday 
evening.
 
The arrested were identified as Parvez Hossain, 33, son of Babul Hossain and 
Md Asif, 35, son of Joynal Sheikh, both of Natun Bazar village under 
Parbatipur Police Station of Dinajpur district.

On a tip-off, a smart team of the RAB-13's Crime Prevention Specialised 
Company (CPSC) conducted a raid at Lahirirhat Bazar, seized the contraband 
drugs and arrested two persons, including a woman at 6:30 pm. 
 
Senior Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-13 and Additional Superintendent of 
Police Biplob Kumar Goswami confirmed the matter by issuing a press release 
from the RAB-13 Battalion headquarters this afternoon.
 
After filing a case in this incident, the elite force handed over the seized 
drugs and arrested persons to Kotwali Sadar Police Station of Rangpur for 
further legal action, the release added.
