School teacher's body recovered from her house in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, May 10, 2026 (BSS) – Police recovered body of Poli Chowdhury (46), a school teacher, from her house in Dewanji Pukurpar area under Kotwali police station in the city. 

The body was discovered around 3 pm today and police reported no signs of injury on the body, but it was decomposed and slightly swollen, said Kotwali police station SI Rashed. 

He said they were alerted through the national emergency service 999 about the door being unresponsive from inside the house. 

The door was opened with the assistance of the fire service and locals, revealing Poli Chowdhury's lifeless body on the floor inside the house. The body has been taken to the hospital, and legal action is underway. 

Family sources mentioned that attempts to contact Poli Chowdhury on her mobile phone since Saturday were unsuccessful. With police assistance, they broke the door lock and discovered her body inside.
 
Locals said Poli Chowdhury was unmarried and lived alone at home, as her father is deceased and her mother resides abroad.
