Partner Congress with farmers held in Thakurgaon

THAKURGAON, May 10, 2026, (BSS)- A day-long training workshop named 'Partner Congress' was held in Thakurgaon for capacity building of the farmers to produce safe food and increase production.

“Program on Agricultural and Rural Transformation for Nutrition, Entrepreneurship and Resilience in Bangladesh (Partner) Project” has been designed to impart necessary training to farmers to produce safe food.  

The day-long event was held at Sadar Upazila auditorium premises under the initiative of Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE).

Majedul Islam, Deputy Director of Thakurgaon district of DAE was present as the chief guest while Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Nasirul Alam was in the chair.

Speakers said in order to get GAP certification, farmers must cultivate according to international standard and regulation. 

They especially emphasized on proper preservation of dairy products, use of approved fertilizers and pesticides, and maintaining the soil and water quality.

Modern farming technologies, ways of increasing production, marketing, and various aspects of improving the living standard of the farmers were discussed in the congress with farmers.
