RAB, police to launch anti-crime drive in Khulna

KHULNA, June 3, 2026 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) and other law enforcement agencies will launch a joint special drive against terrorists, extortionists and drug traffickers in Khulna from next week to improve the law and order situation in the region.

The decision was taken at a special crime review meeting held in the city today with KMP Commissioner Md. Zahidul Islam in the chair.

The meeting reviewed the prevailing law and order situation in Khulna and decided to conduct coordinated operations based on intelligence reports to arrest listed criminals and take legal action against them.

According to sources, the joint operation will involve KMP, RAB-6, Khulna District Police, 3rd Armed Police Battalion (APBn) and other specialized police units stationed in Khulna.

Law enforcement agencies have already prepared separate lists of suspected extortionists, terrorists and drug traffickers operating in the region.

Talking to BSS, RAB-6 Commanding Officer Lt Col Nistar Ahmed said details of the planned operation could not be disclosed for operational reasons.
