RAJBARI, June 7, 2026 (BSS) - A 10-day training programme under the "Livelihood Development Project for Marginal Professional Communities" has begun in Rajbari with the aim of improving the socio-economic conditions and skills of disadvantaged professional groups.

The opening ceremony was held this morning at the office of the Rajbari Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer, with UNO Nirupama Roy presiding over the event.

Deputy Director of the Rajbari District Social Services Office Abu Saleh Md. Ali Ahsan attended the programme as the chief guest.

He said there is no alternative to skill development for raising the living standards of marginalised and disadvantaged communities.

He added that the training would help participants gain new knowledge and vocational skills, enabling them to create self-employment opportunities and become economically self-reliant.

A total of 30 participants from different areas of the upazila, representing marginal professional communities, are taking part in the training.

Officials said the 10-day course will include hands-on sessions on various income-generating and vocational activities, designed to help participants engage in productive work and improve their livelihoods.
