Drug trader arrested with 1,550 yaba tablets in Narsingdi

NARSINGDI, June 11, 2026 (BSS) - Police arrested a suspected drug trader with 1,550 yaba tablets during a special drive in the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway area at Basail under Narsingdi Sadar Police Station.

The arrestee was identified as Tanvir Bhuiyan, 32, son of Naim Bhuiyan of Gasirdia village under Shibpur upazila of the district.

Police conducted the drive around 5:30 pm on Thursday and arrested Tanvir Bhuiyan from the area. The 1,550 yaba tablets were recovered from his possession.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Narsingdi Sadar Model Police Station ARM Mamun confirmed the matter.

He said a case will be filed against the arrestee under the Narcotics Control Act.
