50 unemployed youths get certificates in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, June 30, 2026 (BSS)- As many as 50 unemployed youths who received 
technical training on different trades were given certificates to help them 
engage in income generating activities to change their lots economically.
 
In this regard, a function was also held at the auditorium of Sadullapur 
upazila in the district this noon with Aftab Hossain, one of the coordinators 
of Gana Unnayan Kendra (GUK) in the chair.
 
Upazila Youth Development Officer Abdul Wahab attended the function and 
distributed the certificates to the trainees as the chief guest.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Wahab urged the trainees to take part in 
income generating activities through utilizing the certificates in a bid to 
be self-reliant and to build a happy, prosperous, unemployment free beautiful 
Bangladesh in the days to come. 

Mentionable that GUK, an NGO working across the country had been providing 
technical training on different trades among the youths of the district and 
its neighboring districts in cooperation with BRAC, a Bangladesh base 
international development organization, for few months last aimed at turning 
the unemployed youths into skilled ones to build unemployment free beautiful 
Bangladesh.
 
To attain the cherished goal, the unemployed youths were imparted 6-month 
long need base training under the Prise project and then, certificates were 
distributed to them formally today. 

In reply to a query, Executive Chief of GUK Abdus Salam said the technical 
trades included Women Beauty Salon, Embroidery and Lace Making, Tailoring and 
Dress Making, Electric Motor Repairing and Rewinding, Wood Furniture Design, 
IT Support Technician, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Motorcycle Service 
Mechanics and Weldings.
