Rajshahi City Corporation announces budget of TK 1,010 cr

RAJSHAHI, June 30,2026 (BSS) - A budget of Taka 1,009.66 crore for Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) for the 2026-2027 fiscal year has been announced, keeping income and expenditure equal and without imposing any new taxes.
 
This afternoon, the budget was announced through a press conference at Annex Building of Nagar Bhaban by RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton.
 
The administrator said the new fiscal year's budget was formulated to ensure facilities for citizens while maintaining consistency between income and expenditure.
 
Its aim is to improve the quality of citizen services, balance realistic income and expenditure, and achieve sustainable urban development.
 
Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman said the original budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year was 806 crore 61 lakh 21 thousand 211 taka 36 paisa. In the revised budget, it increased to 934 crore 52 lakh 80 thousand 423 taka 49 paisa. 

The budget for the new fiscal year has been prepared with complete realism, aligning expenditure with income while keeping future citizen amenities in mind.
 
He further stated that the proposed budget for the 2026-2027 fiscal year has been set at 1,009 crore 66 lakh 30 thousand 65 taka 81 paisa, with income and expenditure kept equal.

At the press conference, the administrator said this budget will be successfully implemented, reflecting the public's trust and expectations. 

He also called on everyone to work together to build a clean, modern, green, healthy, safe, and livable Rajshahi city. 

Senior officials of Rajshahi City Corporation were present at the press conference.
