RAJSHAHI, Aug 26, 2026 (BSS) - The holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi was observed in Rajshahi today with religious solemnity and festive fervour through various religious and social programmes.
On the occasion, devout Muslims brought out religious processions on different roads of the city from the morning. At around 10:45 am, a large Jashne Julus was brought out, drawing a huge gathering of devotees from different parts of the city.
During the procession, Quranic verses and Surahs were recited, while Hamd and Naat were performed. Devotees also recited Durood Sharif in praise of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) and offered special prayers.
Many devotees joined the Jashne Julus on various vehicles. Later, a rally was held at Saheb Bazar Zero Point around 11 am, where speakers urged people to follow the life, ideals and teachings of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
Special prayers were offered after the rally for the peace, progress and prosperity of the country and its people, as well as for the welfare of the Muslim Ummah.
The Jashne Julus later proceeded towards the shrine of Hazrat Shah Makhdum Ruposh (RA).
Meanwhile, improved-quality meals were served at various government and private institutions, including jails, orphanages and hospitals, marking the occasion.
Various religious competitions, including Quran and Surah recitation as well as Hamd-Naat, were also organized at primary schools across the city.
The observance of Eid-e-Miladunnabi has created a festive and religious atmosphere throughout Rajshahi.
