Syria defence ministry announces end of operation on coast: state news

DAMASCUS, March 10, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - Syria's defence ministry on Sunday announced the end of its military operation on the country's coast, state media reported, after days of violence that saw mass killings and deadly clashes.

"Our forces were able to neutralise the security cells and regime remnants" in a number of towns in Latakia and Tartus provinces, defence ministry spokesman Hassan Abdul Ghani said, adding that "having achieved this, we announce the end of the military operation".
