Neer draws with Indian rival in Asian Individual Chess

DHAKA, May 10, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh's international master and national champion Manon Reja Neer split point with his Indian rival international master S Aswath in the 3rd round open category of Asian Individual Chess Championship now being held in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates.

The third round games were held on Friday last night with IM Manon Reja Neer played with black pieces to choose the Caro-Kann defense and drew with IM S Aswath at 24th moves.

Bangladesh's FIDE master Sakline Mostafa Sajid defeated Ashikmamutov Saidkhon of Uzbekistan but FIDE master Tahsin Tajwar Zia lost to international master Lou Yiping of China in third round matches.

In the women's category, woman FIDE master Noshin Anjum lost to woman grandmaster Gong Qianyun of Singapore.

After the end of third round, international master Manon Reja Neer bagged two points while FIDE master Tahsin Tajwar Zia, FIDE master Sakline Mostafa Sajid and woman FIDE master Noshin Anjum secured one point each.
