KYIV, Ukraine, May 10, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - French President Emmanuel Macron said Saturday the United States had committed to monitor a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine proposed by Kyiv's European allies.

     Macron said the ceasefire "will be monitored mainly by the United States of America, to which all Europeans will contribute," and that the truce would pave the way for "immediate work and negotiations on parties involved to build a robust and lasting peace."
