TEHRAN, June 24, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - Iranian media on Tuesday said an overnight Israeli strike on the north of the country killed nine people, ahead of US President Donald Trump's announcement of the start of a ceasefire between Israel and Iran.

"Four residential buildings were completely destroyed and several neighbouring houses were damaged in the blasts," said Fars news agency, citing Ali Bagheri, an official in the northern province of Gilan.
