MINNEAPOLIS, Jan 27, 2026 (BSS/AFP) - An unspecified number of the federal agents conducting immigration enforcement operations in Minneapolis, where US officers fatally shot two citizens, will leave the city beginning Tuesday, Mayor Jacob Frey said, following a call with President Donald Trump.

"Some federal agents will begin leaving the area tomorrow, and I will continue pushing for the rest involved in this operation to go," Frey said Monday on X, shortly after he posted that he spoke with Trump and that "the president agreed the present situation can't continue."
