Rent of Ekushey Book Fair reduced by 25pc

DHAKA, Jan 26, 2026 (BSS)- Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki has asked the authorities concerned to reduce the rent of this year Amar Ekushey Book Fair stall by 25 percent.

The adviser gave the directive in response to requests from publishers, the adviser said in a Facebook post.

“Following appeals from the publishers, the stall rent at the book fair has been reduced this year. The fair will begin on February 20,” he said in the post.

According to the post, a meeting in this regard was held with the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and the Director General of Bangla Academy. 

The Ministry of Cultural Affairs has expressed hope that this initiative will help making this year’s Amar Ekushey Book Fair vibrant one with gathering of writers, readers, and publishers.
