Former French PM Jospin dies aged 88: family

PARIS, France, March 23, 2026 (BSS/AFP) - Former French prime minister Lionel Jospin, a Socialist who was head of government from 1997 to 2002, has died aged 88, his family on Monday told AFP.

Jospin died on Sunday, they said. He had said he had a "serious operation" in January, without providing details.
