Missile attack hits Kyiv: AFP reporter

KYIV, Ukraine, June 15, 2026 (BSS/AFP) - A major missile attack struck Kyiv early Monday, an AFP reporter witnessed, with projectiles intercepted in the sky and glowing debris falling onto the city.

Ukrainian officials including the city's mayor Vitali Klitschko reported on Telegram that strikes hit various districts.

City military administration head Tymur Tkachenko urged people to remain in shelters as "new launches targeting the capital keep being recorded".

In a later post Tkachenko said six people were confirmed wounded.

In Kharkiv, in northeastern Ukraine, regional governor Oleg Synegubov wrote that two people had been seriously wounded in a district hit by missiles.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, one person was wounded in the city of Dnipro, according to Oleksandr Ganzha, head of the regional military administration.
