Australia sells advanced radar to Canada in $1.8 bn deal

SYDNEY, June 22, 2026 (BSS/AFP) - Australia signed a record Aus$2.5 billion ($1.8 billion) deal Monday to sell a sophisticated over-the-horizon radar defence system to Canada.

"It is far and away the largest defense export that we have ever done," Defence Minister Richard Marles told a news conference.
