JU suspends classes, exams over Begum Khaleda Zia's demise

JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, Dec 30, 2025 (BSS) - As a mark of respect to the late former Prime Minister and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, Jahangirnagar University (JU) authorities today suspended all administrative and departmental meetings.

According to a notification signed by JU's acting registrar ABM Azizur Rahman, The University also announced that all classes and examinations would remain suspended for the day.

Begum Khaleda Zia passed away at 6:00 am today while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka. 

In a condolence message, Jahangirnagar University expressed deep sorrow at her demise, prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul, and conveyed profound sympathy to her bereaved family.
