President arrives in hometown Pabna on four-day visit

PABNA, June 9, 2024 (BSS) - President Mohammed Shahabuddin today arrived in his hometown Pabna on a four-day visit.

The President reached at Shaheed Advocate Amin Uddin Stadium here by a helicopter from Dhaka at 12:40pm. It is his fourth time visit as the Head of the State. 

Upon his arrival, the President was received by local elected representatives and senior officials of the local administration. The Head of the State received a guard of honor after arriving at Pabna Circuit House, where he will be staying during his visit. 

President's Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin told BSS that during the four-day tour, the President is scheduled to participate in various programs, including view-exchange-meetings with local business leaders, government officials and elected representatives. 

According to the program schedule, he will hold a view-exchange meeting with government officials and employees on June 10 at 11:30 am.

On June 11, he will hold another view-exchange-meeting with the representatives of Pabna Chamber of Commerce and Industries Limited at 11:30 am.

Our Correspondent reports: There is a festive mood in President's hometown Pabna and its surroundings, centering his arrival here.

Meanwhile, the leaders and workers of various organizations, including ruling Awami League, other associate bodies and different socio-cultural organizations welcomed the President.

Different colorful banners and festoons, with the photographs of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Hasina, President Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina were hanging across the district town.

Intensified security measures were taken centering the President's visit, Pabna police super Akbar Ali Munshi told BSS.

The President is scheduled to return to the capital by a helicopter on June 12 at 11:40 am.
