Probe committee formed to investigate mob attack on bookstall

DHAKA, Feb 11, 2025 (BSS) – A seven-member probe committee was formed today to investigate the mob attack on the bookstall of Sabyasachi Publications at the Amar Ekushey Book Fair ground.
 
The committee, led by Bangla Academy Director Dr. Mohammad Harun Rashid, has been asked to submit its report within three days, said a press release.
 
Bangla Academy Manager (Press) Mohammad Khorshed Alam has been made as the member secretary, while the other members are Dr. Md Rabiul Islam, Professor at the Social Welfare and Research Institute of Dhaka University; Mohammad Khalid Hossain, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs; cultural personality Mohammad Romel; Md. Abul Bashar Firoz Sheikh, representative of the Bangladesh Book Publishers and Booksellers Association; and Mohammad Khalid Mansur, Officer-in-Charge of Shahbagh Police Station.
