EC to give polls schedule in due time: LGRD Adviser

CUMILLA, June 9, 2025 (BSS) - LGRD and Cooperatives Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain today said the Election Commission (EC) will provide a election schedule in due time in line with the announcement of the Chief Adviser.

The adviser told reporters at Jahapur Bazar while exchanging views with local journalists here.

In the views exchange meeting, the adviser said the people are being deprived of daily services due to the absence of local government representatives.

He said it is sad when country’s main media carry on reports based on rumours of social media platforms with political motive.

Asif Mahmud, also Youth and Sports Adviser said, a group of people has humiliated his family over an incident in Chandpur. 

“I have spoken with the Information Ministry in this regard. As a common citizen of the country, I will take legal action against it,” he said.

Earlier, he visited different areas of Muradnagar and exchanged Eid greetings with locals. He also visited different ongoing development projects in Babutipara, Paharpur, Chaliakandi, Jahapur, Shushunda, Darora and Nahol Chowmohani village.

Local government officials were present at that time.
