Next Nat'l polls must be held on schedule: Mirza Fakhrul

THAKURGAON, Nov 9, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today said the next national election must be held as per the schedule announced by the Chief Adviser.

"Those trying to delay the election are afraid of the people's verdict," he said while addressing a views-exchange meeting at Bhaular Hat High School ground in Raipur union of Thakurgaon Sadar upazila this evening.

Criticizing fallen fascist Sheikh Hasina, Fakhrul said, "If you have courage, return home and do politics."

He also said BNP is committed to public welfare, promising a university, medical college and EPZ in Thakurgaon. 

"Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has pledged one crore jobs in 15 months. To save the country, vote for the sheaf of paddy," he added.

The meeting was chaired by Raipur Union BNP President Tofazzal Hossain and attended by district and local BNP leaders and activists. 

A large number of people from different walks of life were present.
