No fear over AL’s Dhaka lockdown; army to stay deployed: Home Adviser

DHAKA, Nov 9, 2025 (BSS) – Home Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury today said there was no apprehension over the reported November 13 Dhaka lockdown programme of Awami League (AL), whose activities are now banned. 

 “There is no apprehension over the Awami League programme,” he said while replying to questions from journalists following a Core Committee meeting on law and order at home ministry in Bangladesh Secretariat here. 

Regarding withdrawal of 50 percent military personnel from the field, the adviser replied in the negative. 

“At the moment, army personnel will remain in the field as usual. Army will not be withdrawn from the field,” he said.
