2 held with huge fake currency in city

DHAKA, Nov 9, 2025 (BSS) - Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested two active members of a band of criminals along with a huge amount of fake money and cash in a raid in the capital’s Wari area.

The arrested have been identified as Nurul Haque (32) and Saidul Amin (24).

They were arrested from Juriyatuli area under Wari police station around 11:50pm on Saturday, said a police press release today .

At that time, fake notes worth TK 6 lakh ,  real notes worth TK 19.70 lakh, a money counting machine, two stapling  machines and two packets of stapler pins were seized from their possessions, it added.

A regular case was registered against the arrested persons under the Special Powers Act with Wari police station in this connection. 
DB officials confirmed Nurul Haque and Saidul Amin had been making fake notes and distributing them in the market for long.
