CA's London visit 'very successful': Foreign Ministry

DHAKA, June 17, 2025 (BSS) - The foreign ministry today described Chief 
Adviser (CA) Professor Muhammad Yunus's recent visit to the United Kingdom 
(UK) as "very successful," highlighting his audience with British King 
Charles III and tangible progress in recovering stolen assets.

"In our consideration, the visit was very successful," Acting Foreign 
Secretary Ruhul Alam Siddique told reporters at a media briefing held at the 
ministry.

He noted that the Chief Adviser had more engagements than initially scheduled 
and was accorded full protocol during the official visit.

Siddique outlined key achievements of the visit, including a significant step 
forward in the recovery of stolen assets, a one-on-one audience with King 
Charles III, and Prof Yunus being conferred the prestigious King Charles III 
Harmony Award.

On Thursday, Prof Yunus received the King Charles III Harmony Award at a 
formal ceremony held at St James's Palace in London.

Ahead of the award ceremony, King Charles III hosted Prof Yunus for a private 
audience at Buckingham Palace.

The two leaders held a half-hour-long one-on-one meeting, where they 
discussed issues of mutual interest, according to the foreign ministry.
