DHAKA, July 19, 2025 (BSS) - Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury today said the measures will be taken as per the recommendations of the committee formed to probe the Gopalganj incident.

"A high powered committee was formed in this connection. The committee will find out who is responsible for that. Measures will be taken as per the recommendations of the committee," he said.

The home adviser was speaking to journalists after visiting the Third Terminal of the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka.

Replying to a question about the postmortem of the people who died in the Gopalganj incident, Jahangir said the postmortem of a man who died later in Dhaka is being conducted while the bodies of others were taken away earlier.

"So, how can their postmortem be done? If necessary, postmortem of others will be conducted. In case of necessity, postmortem can be done after exhuming bodies from the graves," he said.

The home adviser said he visited the Third Terminal today to assess how much manpower will be required to efficiently operate it to make the passengers services hassle free.

Responding to a question on recruitment of manpower to operate the Third Terminal, he said it might take 400 to be recruited.

The Third Terminal is very beautiful and its operational capacity is much higher, he said.

He also said 99.88 percent works of the terminal have so far been completed and it might be inaugurated soon.

But, he declined to set any deadline for its opening, saying that the civil aviation and tourism ministry will inform it.
