President to offer Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at National Eidgah

DHAKA, March 20, 2026 (BSS) - President Mohammed Shahabuddin will offer the prayers of Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the greatest religious festivals of the Muslims, along with hundreds of people from all walks of life at the National Eidgah on the High Court premises here tomorrow morning.
 
The Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson, Tarique Rahman, is scheduled to offer Eid prayers there at the main Eid jamaat (congregation) at 8.30 am on the day.

Besides, country's noted personalities, including chief justice of Bangladesh, cabinet members, Supreme Court judges, lawmakers, senior political leaders, diplomats and, high civil and military officials will also offer prayers 
 
Khatib of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Mufti Muhammad Abdul Malek is scheduled to conduct the Eid prayers.
 
A special munajat will be offered seeking divine blessings for peace and progress of Bangladesh and welfare of the people as well as the Muslim Ummah.
 
After the prayers, the Head of the State will exchange Eid greetings with the Musullies (devotees) at the Eidgah.
  
The Eid jamaat was held under the auspices of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).  Special arrangements have been made for women to offer Eid prayers at the National Eidgah.
 
Meanwhile, an intensified security measures were taken in and around the prayers ground.

On his arrival at the National Eidgah, the President will be received by Chief Justice Justice Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury, Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad, Administrator of the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Md Abdus Salam, Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Munshi Alauddin Al Azad and other concerned.
