DHAKA, April 18, 2026 (BSS)- Prime Minister’s Press Secretary AAM Saleh Shibly has said the BNP government, led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, has gained public confidence within just two months of assuming office, describing it as the government’s most significant achievement so far.

“The greatest achievement of our government in these 60 days is that the people have placed their trust in Tarique Rahman,” he said while addressing a press conference at Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in the capital’s Tejgaon this afternoon.

The PMO organized the briefing to present key achievements of the government during its first two months in office.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to its electoral pledges, Shibly said the prime minister is actively working to fulfill every promise made to the people ahead of the national election.

He noted that BNP candidates had extensively engaged with voters prior to the polls, outlining their commitments, including the party’s 31-point agenda.

“Voters have the right to assess whether their elected representatives are delivering on those promises and hold them accountable,” he added.

Addressing the issue of misinformation, the press secretary warned that attempts are being made to mislead the public through the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and other means on social media platforms.

“People will not be misled if they are well informed,” he said.

Emphasizing the role of journalism, Shibly said responsible reporting by mainstream media is crucial to ensure flow of accurate information and help citizens distinguish between the truth and falsehood.
