Trial in Ramisa rape, murder case to begin on June 1: Asaduzzaman

CHUADANGA, May 25, 2026 (BSS) – Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md Asaduzzaman today said the trial in the sensational Ramisa rape and murder case will begin on June 1.

“The statement of the accused was recorded within 24 hours of the murder. The charge sheet was filed within a week. We have made significant progress in the trial process, and the trial will officially begin on June 1,” he said.

The minister made the statement while speaking as the chief guest at the closing ceremony held in Karpasdanga area of Chuadanga on the occasion of the 127th birth anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.

The discussion meeting and cultural programme, held at the missionary field adjacent to the poet’s memorial traditional thatched hut, was presided over by Chuadanga Deputy Commissioner Lutfun Nahar.

Conducted by Chuadanga Government College teacher Munshi Abu Saif, the programme was attended, among others, by the chief judicial magistrate, Shahjahan Ali, the Superintendent of police, Ruhul Kabir Khan, and the additional deputy commissioner, Nayan Kumar Rajbangshi.
