RANGPUR, July 27, 2026 (BSS) - BNP Secretary General and Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today said the presidential election will be held on time in accordance with the Constitution.
 
He made the remarks to journalists after inaugurating the divisional office of the Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB) in the wholesale fish market area on RK Road adjacent to the Rangpur Central Bus Terminal this morning.

Earlier, the minister inaugurated the Rangpur divisional BRDB office by unveiling the plaque in a colorful ceremony as the chief guest.
 
Mirza Fakhrul said nominations for the post of president would be decided in line with the party's decision.
 
Rangpur Divisional Commissioner Md Shahidul Islam, Rangpur Development Authority Chairman Md Shamsuzzaman Samu, District Council Administrator Md Saiful Islam, Rangpur City Corporation Administrator Advocate Mahfuz Un Nabi Chowdhury Don, higher officials of BRDB and BNP leaders and activists were present.
