10-day BNCC regimental camping ends in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Jan 24, 2024 (BSS) - A ten-day regimental camping of Mohasthan Regiment of Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC) ended on the playground of Postal Academy here today (Wednesday).
 
Main thrust of the training was to enhance the moral and mental strength of the cadets along with equipping them with discipline and leadership characteristics.
 
Around 526 student-cadets both male and female from 99 educational institutions, including schools, colleges and universities, in Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions took part in the camping.
 
Besides, two army officers, four territorial force officers, 21 professors under officers and six teachers under officers joined.
 
Commandant of Bangladesh Infantry Regiment Centre Major General Khandaker Shahidul Imran attended the passing out parade and took salute as chief guest.

Regiment Commander Lt Col Rashedul Hassan Prince, Battalion Adjutant Major Muhammad Mahbubur Rahman and Artillery Regiment Adjutant Major Abu Rifat Muhammad Motaleb were present at the closing ceremony.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Major General Khandaker Shahidul Imran urged the cadets to involve themselves in nation building activities in a disciplined manner by making good use of the knowledge they gained during the training.
 
Besides, the BNCC members could play a pivotal role in protecting the country's independence and sovereignty, he said, adding: "The training will help the BNCC members to build a disciplined lifestyle both in working and academic life."
 
They should work relentlessly with the motto of building the youths as competent future leaders to carry forward the nation's hopes and aspirations to the coveted goal, he continued.
 
"You've a vital role to play to prevent the youngsters from various social crimes like drug-addiction and eve- teasing," he said, adding that the society could be built as healthy and sound through their noble efforts.
 
He called for devoting themselves towards building a prosperous Bangladesh. The chief guest also inspected the parade and took salute of the march-past by the contingents besides a team of flag carriers and band party.
 
The cadets were imparted training on physical, drill, leadership, military discipline, liberation war history, war tactics and armory side by side with various social development activities to help them get prepared to face any calamity.
 
Apart from the military training, they took part in various social development activities.
