DHAKA, Jan 24, 2024 (BSS) - Leaders of Ekattorer Ghatok Dalal Nirmul Committee today called on Chief Justice Obaidul Hassan at latter's office at the Supreme Court.

Led by its president Shahriar Kabir, the other members of the delegation were former Supreme Court Justice AHM Shamsuddin Choudhury Manik, Mahfuza Khanam, Muntassir Mamun, Aroma Dutta, Asif Munir Tanmoy and Qazi Mukul.

The committee leaders during their 30 minutes meeting presented four demands in writing, to the chief justice.

The demands are- reviving the now non-functioning International Crimes Tribunal-2, appointing more judges to the Appellate Division and taking step to expedite the pending appeal cases, taking step to designate a particular Appellate Division bench to go to tribunal to hear and dispose of appeal cases like many countries, preserving all necessary documents related to crime against humanity trial here accordingly and turning the tribunal building into a museum and archive later.
