DHAKA, Feb 10, 2024 (BSS) - Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, MP, today said the youths and students must have to play a vital role to establish "Smart Bangladesh".

He was addressing the annual sports competition and prize giving ceremony of Motijheel Ideal School and College in the city.

"Students and youths worked as vanguard under the leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman during the Liberation War. They fought as the most powerful force of the Father of the Nation," he added.

Nasim said the main goal of our independence was to build a non-communal, democratic and prosperous Bangladesh.

"Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman spent his most valuable time to the cause of independence of the country and its people from the clutches of Pakistani occupied forces. He fought for establishing democratic rights and mother tongue", Nasim said.

Addressing the teachers, he said, you will develop the students as worthy citizens through your experience and training. Children cannot be raised only by parents. Teachers have many roles to raise children. Children come back as worthy citizens from you and they will take Bangladesh forward in the future.

The function was presided over by the acting Principal of Ideal School and College Mohammad Emam Hossain. Teachers, students and parents along with Bahauddin Nasim's wife Dr. Sultana Shamima Chowdhury were present, among others.
