Training on RTI held at Medical Education and Family Welfare Division

DHAKA, Feb 12, 2024 (BSS) - A day-long training programme on Right to Information (RTI) Act was held at Medical Education and Family Welfare Division at the ministry here today.

Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) Dr Abdul Malek attended the programme as the chief guest with Medical Education and Family Welfare Division Secretary Md Azizur Rahman in the chair.

A total of fifty officials of Medical Education and Family Welfare Division participated the training programme, said a press release.
 
"Peoples' right to information and becoming beneficiary in applying this right, got legal recognition through the enactment of the RTI act, 2009. This act removed the culture of hiding information and ensures the matter of receiving transparent and neutral information. To build a good governance-based, corruption free and accountable country, all should have clear knowledge about RTI Act, 2009," Dr Abdul Malek said.

He also called for disclosing and disseminating information on a self-motivated basis and publishing pure and accurate information through the website.
