DHAKA, Feb 18, 2024 (BSS) - Speakers at a seminar here today underscored the need for a plan for media workers to play role in creating public awareness for perfect implementation of the Mujib Climate Prosperity Plan (MCPP).
National Institute of Mass Communication (NIMCO) arranged the seminar on Media role in implementing Mujib Climate Prosperity Plan (MCPP)-2022-2041 in its office at Darus Salam here today.
Speakers said the MCPP has incorporated the vision and directives of Bangabandhu regarding environment and climate change. The MCPP is a guide to move from climate related danger to prosperity, they said.
NIMCO Additional Director General Sufi Zakir Hossain presided over the programme while Director of Department of Environment (DoE) Mirza Shawkat Ali presented the keynote paper.
Member of National River Protection Commission Malik Fida A Khan, Executive President of South Asian Climate Change Journalists Forum (SACCJF) Keramat Ullah Biplab and Secretary General Asaduzzaman Samrat also spoke on the occasion.
Implementation of the MCPP will be easier if the climate issue is prioritized in the Delta Plan, SDGs and Smart Bangladesh Plan, speakers observed.
Media workers from different government and private organizations and officials of different levels of NIMCO took part in the seminar.
