Bangabandhu Parishad pays homage to late FF Rafiqul Islam

DHAKA, March 3, 2024(BSS) - Bangabandhu Parishad today paid rich tributes to its Presidium member, heroic Freedom Fighter (FF) and noted journalist Rafiqul Islam who passed away on February 27 at a hospital in New Jersey, USA.

On behalf of the organization, President of Bangabandhu Parishad and Former Dhaka University vice-chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique placed a floral wreath on the coffin of the late journalist, a press release said.

Earlier, the body of Rafiqul was taken to the central Jame Masjid of Dhaka University here, where his namaz-e-janaza was held after Zohr prayers.

The freedom fighter was later given a guard of honor, the release added.

People from all walks of life paid their last tributes to Rafiqul Islam at the central Jame Masjid of Dhaka University by placing wreaths.

Rafiqul Islam was laid to eternal rest at the Martyred Intellectuals' Graveyard in city's Mirpur area with state honor.
